Rwanda Action is an organization aspiring to relieve poverty in Rwanda through empowering communities, and specifically working with school children, the poor, and the disadvantaged. The organization works closely with the communities to identify the most urgent challenges that require attention and, together, they come up with the most effective and sustainable solutions.

Rwanda Action has successfully piloted an in-service teacher training program, supporting teachers in over 300 schools, with impressive results in pupil retention and performance.

Rwanda Action built the Rusizi Social Care Center for the care and inclusion of street children, now being re-purposed as 'The Rusizi Center for Inclusion of Children with Disabilities'. The goal is to offer a practical way for providing care and inclusion for young people with disabilities in the community, in their homes, in schools, and in the workplace.

For the first two years, the center is intended act as a boarding school, providing a one-year foundation program in which deaf children will learn to sign and consolidate their basic skills in small classes. The aim is that at the end of their foundation year the children will be able to attend a local school that will meet their needs. After the first two years, the Center aspires to provide longer courses for deaf children who live in more remote sectors where it is not possible to provide support in a local school.
