Saye Company supports young Rwandan women by providing economic support and educational programs to help prevent menstrual stigma and teen pregnancies. Saye Company was founded in 2017 by UMUHOZA Amina, an inspiring young woman who had seen numerous friends drop out of school and living in poverty due to teen pregnancies that were a result of a lack of available information on sexual reproductive health.

Saye has created and operates a menstruation station in Kigali, digital campaigns, and Sexual and Reproductive Health campaigns in rural urban cities. Saye runs two major programs that uphold its vision of supporting women and girls, and educating the community on these burning topics:

Teen Mothers Sewing Incubation

The cohort of young mothers are given a sewing machine, training for six-months, and some are integrated into the workspace of Saye Home Décor in town, where they assist with production while earning an income and supporting their children.

Dukataze Program

In 2022, Saye started the SRHR (Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights) clubs in four schools around Rwanda. The club educates adolescents in schools and communities on the topics of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, gender-based violence, promoting positive masculinity, and sustainable goals.

The intention is to follow up weekly with the adolescent students, empowering them to become peer educators, as a sustainable solution to combat teenage pregnancies and menstrual stigma in Rwandan society. Since the project started, Saye has trained hundreds of adolescents in SRHR clubs. 

The training includes board games, storytelling, participatory and group activities such as discussions, debates, brainstorming and problem-solving exercises.

The Saye Home Décor store provides a revenue stream that helps support the organization's social initiatives.
