My Hereafter Project is a not-for-profit charity organization in Ghana, with a mission to provide health support for the sick and relief services for the needy. It was founded in 2013 by Nuhu Alimatu Sadia, a young woman (then 19) with a vision to use local resource mobilization to intercede for the needy in her community, which did not have a health facility. Alimatu later shaped her charity into an NGO championing equality in access to healthcare services, especially for women and children in underserved communities.

The organization has for the past ten years reached individuals and communities with health relief services, women’s skills programs and empowerment sessions, educational programs in schools, and other initiatives:

The 1child 1nhis project

An initiative to register children under 18 onto the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) of Ghana so they can access free basic healthcare and other benefits by showing a NHIS card. The purpose of this project is to allow children in the community access to medical care in time for early detection and treatment, avoiding situations where illness deteriorates and is only detected at a later stage, when the damage to health and costs of treatment are high. The organization has so far successfully registered thousands of children from dozens of rural communities in 4 regions in Ghana onto the Scheme and handed over the cards to parents.

The MHP Community Mobile Clinic

This mobile clinic brings the support of volunteer medical officers into a selected community, offering tests, assessments, and consultation to patients, and referring them to a health facility if necessary. Health education is also offered by volunteer nutrition and health education officers.

So far, the mobile clinic has screened over 10,000 children and adults on malaria, providing either medication or counseling; assessed the BMI of thousands of children, providing expert nutritional counseling; assessed thousands of adults on hepatitis B, providing them with counseling according to the results.

The Health Finance Project

This project leads local fundraisers to support healthcare, hospital bills, and pay for surgeries for orphans, the poor and underprivileged, and take general measures to ensure equality in access to optimal healthcare services. This project has successfully supported over a 100 patients’ hospital and surgery bills.

MHP Livelihood Support

This project supports mothers after treatment of their children with GHS1000 or more seed capital to start businesses with the hope that the proceeds will help them purchase medications, food, and education for their children.
