Elimu Fanaka is a non-profit organization committed to providing opportunities for learners in rural public primary schools in underserved communities in Kenya. Their mission is to enable access to quality education, boost the learners’ self-esteem, and empower them to realize their potential.

In their efforts to promote mental health and wellbeing of learners, and creating a better future for these communities, Elimu Fanaka runs programs such as:

  • The Alternative Learning Program, which includes moderns dance activities and leadership development.

  • The Storytelling Program, which dives into cultural awareness through folk songs, dances, and poetry.

  • Financial Stewardship Classes

  • A Literacy Program, enhancing reading and writing skills, and fostering a love for reading

  • A permaculture and apiculture project

  • Empowering educators, teachers, and parents through professional development and economical initiatives.

Since 2019, Elimu Fanaka has impacted thousands of learners and hundreds of parents and teachers in 3 countries in Kenya. The organization is working towards the vision of building the Fanaka Center - a sustainable center that will serve as a hub for local community trainings, a recreational center, and a hub for the existing projects – permaculture, beekeeping, and environmental conservation.
