VP Grantee
Agati Library is a community library in the Musanze district in northern Rwanda. It was founded by six young people who grew up experiencing the challenges, as well as the potential, of growing up in Musanze. Agati's goal is to provide communities with access to children friendly books and spaces, to cultivate curiosity, creativity, and a culture of lifelong learning. Agati runs a free stationary library open to all children and a moving library.

Since 2018, the library has grown from 100 to thousands books in English, French, and Kinyarwanda and has an average of 2,500 monthly visits. Agati has engaged over 2000 parents and caregivers in community outreach events such as the Moving Library project. The community plays an important role in the running of Agati Library and expanding the collection of books.

One of the key objectives of the organization is to acquire a plot of land for the construction of a permanent library facility, which would become a dedicated space for learning and community engagement.
